The first modification was to replace the "U" tubes with taps. I found
a lot of cross flow in the system so thought that the taps may help. I
made the fitting the same size for both so the change was easy. However
the taps made no difference. I still had the pressure build up problem.
Most probably if I could cure the pressure problem the "U" tubes would
work.
